Silly Putty Fun for kids!

Silly Putty with title
It’s so important to incorporate sensory activities in children’s everyday lives.  Sensory activities can be incorporated at any age.  This recipe is super easy, fun and simple to follow.  We made purple, yellow,  blue and green putty and I let the boys make their putty individually for their own super science experience!
Here’s what you’ll need:
2 bowls
Measuring spoons
4 oz. bottle of glue (we used Elmer’s glue)
Food coloring (We used Neon colors)
A container with lid or baggy for storage
Gloves (optional)
Let’s get started:
Add one bottle of glue (4 oz.) to a bowl and add food coloring of your choice.  Add two tablespoons of water to your glue mixture.  Mix well.Silly-Putty-glue-mixture
In a separate bowl add one cup of water and 2 teaspoons of Borax.  Mix well.  Silly-Putty-mixture-playing
Pour your glue mixture into your borax water mixture and mix well.  Your silly putty will began to form as your kneed it with your hands.  Remove the putty from the water and discard your water mixture that’s left in the bowl.  Continue to kneed your putty until it is the desired texture.  Have Fun!  We would love to know how your putty turns out so don’t forget to leave a comment to tell us how much fun you had!  Until next time my beautiful friends!
