(Vlog) How to throw an INDOOR CAMPOUT


       Am I the only one that cries when their children get a year older? I promise every year I shed a tear. They aren't sad tears more like tears of joy! I am proud of my children every single one of them. They are each different in their own way. Each has their own unique quality that sets them apart from the other. My oldest son Isaiah turned twelve last month and I am still gasping over his growth spurt that came out of no where! Eeek! He blows everyones mind when they ask, "how old is your son?" And I say oh he's twelve. They gasp with their eyes wide saying, "wow what a handsome young man". You might catch me blushing a little bit. (Proud mamma)

He couldn't decide what he wanted to do for his birthday. He wanted to go to the arcade, then he didn't. He wanted to have a house party, then he didn't. We went back and forth, back and forth. Until I thought about staying in. My hubby wanted to save a little money so this idea might just be the ticket. So I asked my son to tell give me ideas on what to call it. Boys don't say sleepover or slumber party. That was too girly, so he opted for campout. That was it we were going to throw an indoor campout! Aewsome! Now let's bring it all together. First things first who's invited? Well this was an indoor campout for boys only.

      I searched the internet for camp themed clipart and saw some really cute stuff. I used some of the clipart to make digital invitations that I sent to all of the parents via text messaging. It was perfect the image showed up perfectly on their phones and they wouldn't misplace it. I only asked if they could be sure to let their sons see the invitation as well, because it was super cool and we wanted the boys to get excited. Some of the boys had a personal phone so I sent the invitation to their phones as well. I created the invitation using photoshop but if you don't have Photoshop Picmonkey works great. (Vlog) Christmas in the Clouds : Our Christmas

Hi Beautiful Nesters I hope you all are blessed and doing well. I got to get better at updating this blog you guys. (Sigh) Sometimes I forget about our little piece of internet real estate. Just like my home I have to maintain this one, so I'll do better I promise. #2017goals..

Memories, memories, memories. Recalling my childhood holiday experiences is something I’ll never forget. Thank goodness they are good memories and not bad ones. We were blessed and I thank God everyday for the little things that I cherish from my childhood and the memories my husband and I are creating for our children. My parents spoiled us rotten and I do mean rotten when it came down to buying us toys and treats for Christmas. Even though they did nothing wrong and meant well, my husband and I promised ourselves that we wouldn’t do that with the kids. We’ll teach them good values and the true meaning of the holiday without spoiling them with so many unnecessary gifts. We’ll instill in them love, kindness and truth, just as our parents instilled in us. We’ll show them and teach them how to be grateful for the little things. We’ll teach them about God and how to understand the Bible better. We’ll teach them about propaganda and how this day turns into a shopping circus if your not aware of it. (Video) Homemade Buttermilk pancakes


Hello everyone welcome back and happy new year to all. I hope you all have had an awesome new year so far I can’t wait to see what this year will bring. I wanted to share this simple and delicious homemade buttermilk pancake recipe with you. My family enjoyed these on Christmas morning and it sent me back to my childhood, waking up to the smells of Christmas. If you know what I mean. I know some of you are asking yourself why are you eating buttermilk pancakes? I thought you were on a plantbased diet? Yes this is very true but the one important think I’ve learned on this journey is to step away from time to time and breath. Sometimes “diets” if you want to call it a diet, I call it eating smarter just making better choices can be a little overwhelming. So I stepped out of my plantbased zone to enjoy a little bit of my childhood. I used non-gmo ingredients as well as organic. Eating is about choices and this was something I dare to say was craving. Eek! I’m happy with our progress and who knows when it will be when I eat them again so for now I’ll indulge. I hope you enjoy this recipe and let me know if you enjoy buttermilk pancakes as well. Here’s what you’ll need:

  • 2 cups of organic all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons (non gmo) baking powder
  • 2 teaspoons of baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 3 tablespoons organic cane sugar
  • 2 large organic eggs
  • 3 cups organic buttermilk
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted melted organic  butter (reserve a little for the griddle)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Directions
1. Heat griddle to around 375 degrees and reduce the heat to prevent burning. Whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar in a large bowl. Add eggs, vanilla, melted butter and buttermilk and whisk to combine until smooth.

2. Test your griddle to be sure it’s hot and ready by adding a drop of butter to the griddle being sure that it doesn’t burn. If the butter burns it’s too hot reduce the heat. Pour the batter in the pan to form circular shapes and allow bubbles to form on the top of the pancake before flipping.

3. Using the excess butter in the griddle spread it to cover the bottom of the griddle. Repeat the process until all of the batter is used. Serve with fruit or your favorite breakfast staple.

(Video) Homemade Bread

Hello Beautiful Nesters I how hope you all are blessed and doing well. Today I will be showing you how to make homemade bread that’s really easy and doesn’t require a bread machine. Yes I said it doesn’t require a bread machine. All you have to do is put in a little elbow grease and knead your dough a bit. I love making this bread for simple dishes like sandwiches. If you use it for sandwiches it’s best to keep it as one whole loaf so that your slices are bigger. Bread dough is very flexible and forgiving you can add what ever you like to your dough when your adding your other ingredients. This will create artisan style bread loafs. For example if you want a more savory loaf, add rosemary, garlic, and other herbs. If you want a sweet loaf feel free to add nuts, cranberries and other seeds. It will be delicious no matter what you do trust me, its hard to get this wrong. I’m not a master bread matter but I can say I keep homemade bread on my families table every week. They love it! As soon as it comes out of the oven and cools down nearly half of a loaf is eaten.
You can also use this recipe for your holiday cornbread dressing, sub rolls, and dinner rolls the possiblities are endless. So let’s get started. Here’s what you’ll need:

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups of hot water (keep the temperature between 103-108 degrees fahrenheit) 
  • 1/2 teaspoon of honey or sugar (I used organic cane sugar)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon of olive oil
  • (Feel free to use whatever oil you like)
  • 1/2 cup of all purpose flour to be adding to activate the gluten
  • 1/2 cup increments of bread flour to be adding to the dough until you reach your desired dough consistency
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt (or salt to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon of cane sugar
  • 1-2 tablespoon of brown sugar
  • (You may adjust your sugar as needed)

(Vlog) ATLANTIS VACATION VLOG DAY 1

Hello my beautiful friends, I am so excited to share this vacation vlog/blog post with you! We recently went to the Bahamas and stayed at the Royal Towers at the Atlantis Resort. This resort is absolutely beautiful and it offered so much for families with children as well. If your single, a couple or a family they have lots of things for you all to do! It really depends on the hotel you choose or what you would like to enjoy while your on the island. We chose this resort because of all the amenitites it offered the boys. They were never bored and we were exhausted every day. So let me share with you what we did on day one. We arrived and had a car take us to the Royal Towers during the car ride we had a small scenic tour before we arrived.

(VIDEO) EASY GUACAMOLE: PLANT BASED

Try this easy guacamole recipe. It is authentic ingredients traditional of a Mexican style guacamole. I decided not to use Serrano peppers because it would be a bit to spicy and hot for my children. Jalepenos work as an excellent substitution to reduce the heat. Here's what you'll need:
INGREDIENTS:
THE JUICE FROM 2 LIMES
2 TB OF FINELY CHOPPED JALAPEÑO
A FIST FULL OF CHOPPED CILANTRO
TWO RIPE TOMATOES CHOPPED
1/2 CUP CHOPPED ONION (WHITE OR RED)
2 RIPE AVOCADOS CHOPPED
Directions:
In a large bowl combine your ingredients, adding your lime juice and 1/2 tsp of sea salt to taste.
With your fork or spoon mash your avocado slightly to reduce the chunks but leaving it with a little texture. You do not want watery guacamole or creamy guacamole. If you prefer creamy that’s fine just blend, mix and stir away my dear.
Try to incorporate your ingredients leaving it delicious and chunky for chunky style. Serve with corn tortilla chips, add to salads, sandwiches, or as a side to rice and beans. Guacamole is an excellent compliment for nearly any dish.

(VIDEO) EASY VEGAN AVOCADO MAYO

Today I have a delicious recipe for you. It is an alternative to your traditional mayo. If your looking to find a healthier alternative, try this VEGAN AVOCADO MAYO! Let’s talk about what’s in your traditional mayonaise. A basic mayo is made of soybean oil, distilled vinegar, egg yolks, water, sugar, salt, EDTA. Avocado is an excellent source of protein and healthy fat. It packs a powerful punch providing our bodies with essential nutrients like Vitamin K, Folate, Vitamin C, Potassium, Vitamin E, Vitamin B5 and B6 just to name a few. This mayo is simple and sweet (not literally) it will hit every tasty note in your mouth. I’m sure it will become a staple, trust me.
Here's what you'll need:
INGREDIENTS
2 ripe avocados
1 large shallot or 1/3 cup onion
1 TB yellow mustard
1/2 tsp black pepper (I used cracked black pepper)
a pinch of salt (salt to taste)
1/2 tsp olive oil
Blend your ingredients in a blender until smooth and creamy. Place your condiment in a mason jar to store in the fridge for about 2 weeks. Enjoy!
